NOTE

  • The safety factor of gear strength over than 1.6.
  • The safety factor is according to DIN3990-B gear design standard.
  • The trust-bearing can be chance for different purpose.
  • The material of pionion is SNCM220, the material of gear is SCM415 and they are all from Janpan.
  • The gear ratio can select triple reduction in the same type.
How to Choose Right Gear box ?
STEP 1
Select nominal ratio ” i “ ( see table 2)
Example:
Input speed n1 = 1750 rpm ;
Screw speed n2 = 100 rpm
Required ratio iʳ = n1 / n2 = 17.5
Closest available ratio i = 20
STEP 2
Calculate output torque
Required Gearbox Output Torque ( Tʳ )
Tʳ(Nm) = p2 x 9550 / n2
Example:
Power of Drive motor : P2 = 75kW
Required Gearbox Output Torque( Tʳ ):
Tʳ=75*9550/100=7162.5 Nm
STEP 3
Select Gear Unit type and size (see table 2)
Example:
Nominal torque : T= 7200 ≥ Tʳ=7162.5 Nm
Select model NEX-200 (see table 2) to be
proper one!!
STEP 4
Determine Required Thermal Capacity
(see table1)
(I) P > P2;Nominal thermal capacity (P)
> Power of Drive motor (P2)
Thermal capacity of gearbox is sufficient.
(II) P < P2;Nominal thermal capacity (P)
< Power of Drive motor (P2)
Additional cooling system is required.
Example:
Choose Model NEX-200 (see table 1):
P (37kW) < P2 (75kW)
